1. Free Trial

OrthoVellum offers a free tier with limited access to content. We encourage you to explore the free content before subscribing to understand what we offer.

2. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

For new subscribers only: If you are not satisfied with your subscription, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment.

  • This guarantee applies to your first subscription payment only
  • Applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions
  • No questions asked—simply contact us within 14 days
  • Refunds are processed to your original payment method

3. Monthly Subscriptions

3.1 Cancellation

  • You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time
  • Access continues until the end of your current billing period
  • No partial refunds for unused days in the current month
  • Cancel through your Account Settings or by contacting us

3.2 Refunds

  • Within 14 days of first payment: Full refund available under our money-back guarantee
  • After 14 days: No refunds for monthly subscriptions; cancel to prevent future charges

4. Annual Subscriptions

4.1 Cancellation

  • You may cancel your annual subscription at any time
  • Access continues until the end of your annual billing period
  • Cancellation prevents automatic renewal

4.2 Refunds

  • Within 14 days of first payment: Full refund available under our money-back guarantee
  • Days 15-30: Pro-rated refund may be available upon request (at our discretion)
  • After 30 days: No refunds; you retain access until your subscription period ends

5. Special Circumstances

We may consider refund requests outside our standard policy in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Medical emergencies: Extended illness or hospitalization that prevents use of the service
  • Technical issues: Persistent platform problems that we cannot resolve
  • Duplicate charges: Accidental double billing or system errors
  • Exam date changes: If your fellowship exam is postponed beyond your subscription period

Please contact us with documentation to support your request. These are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

6. Non-Refundable Items

The following are not eligible for refunds:

  • Subscriptions more than 30 days old (except special circumstances)
  • Accounts terminated for violation of Terms of Service
  • Promotional or discounted subscriptions (unless specified)
  • Gift subscriptions purchased for others (contact us about transfers)

7. How to Request a Refund

Option 1: Online (Recommended)

  1. Log in to your OrthoVellum account
  2. Go to Settings → Subscription
  3. Click "Request Refund"
  4. Follow the prompts to complete your request

Option 2: Email

Send an email to billing@orthovellum.com with:

  • Subject: "Refund Request"
  • Your account email address
  • Subscription type (monthly/annual)
  • Date of purchase
  • Reason for refund (optional but helpful)

8. Refund Processing

8.1 Timeline

  • Refund requests are reviewed within 2 business days
  • Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days
  • Your bank may take additional time to reflect the refund

8.2 Payment Method

  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method
  • Credit card refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days
  • If your original payment method is no longer valid, contact us

9. Subscription Pausing

As an alternative to cancellation, annual subscribers may request to pause their subscription for up to 2 months (once per subscription year) for:

  • Extended leave or vacation
  • Medical reasons
  • Work commitments during non-study periods

10. Account Reactivation

If you cancel and later wish to return, your previous progress (bookmarks, flashcard data, study history) is retained for 12 months. After 12 months, data may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Currency and Taxes

  • Refunds are issued in the currency of the original transaction
  • Taxes are refunded proportionally
  • Exchange rate differences are not compensated

12. Disputes

If you have a dispute about charges on your account, please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We are committed to resolving billing issues promptly and fairly.

Chargebacks initiated without contacting us first may result in account suspension.

13. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement. Australian consumers have certain guaranteed rights including rights to a refund for services that are not provided with due care and skill.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will not apply retroactively to existing subscriptions at the time of the change.
