We want you to be happy with your OrthoVellum subscription. This Refund Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work.
1. Free Preview
OrthoVellum has a free tier (topics, exam outlines, and community) plus a one-time, no-card, 24-hour preview that opens a few exam-practice items (for example, 25 MCQs and a small set of ISAWE and CIM cases). We encourage you to try the free content and the preview before you subscribe. Paid plans are charged straight away, and there is no separate paid trial.
2. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
For new subscribers only: if you are not happy with your subscription, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment.
- This guarantee applies to your first subscription payment only
- It applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions

- Refunds go back to your original payment method
3. Monthly Subscriptions
3.1 Cancellation
- You can cancel your monthly subscription any time
- Your access continues until the end of the current billing period
- We do not give partial refunds for unused days in the current month
- To cancel, contact us through the support or billing channels listed below
3.2 Refunds
- Within 14 days of your first payment: full refund under our money-back guarantee
- After 14 days: no refunds for monthly subscriptions; cancel to stop future charges
4. Annual Subscriptions
4.1 Cancellation
- You can cancel your annual subscription any time
- Your access continues until the end of the annual billing period
- Cancelling stops it from renewing automatically
4.2 Refunds
- Within 14 days of your first payment: full refund under our money-back guarantee
- Days 15-30: we may give a pro-rated refund on request, at our discretion
- After 30 days: no refunds; you keep access until your subscription period ends
5. Special Circumstances
We may consider a refund outside our standard policy in exceptional cases, such as:
- Medical emergencies: a long illness or hospital stay that stops you using the service
- Technical issues: ongoing platform problems we cannot fix
- Duplicate charges: accidental double billing or system errors
- Exam date changes: if your fellowship exam is postponed past your subscription period
Please contact us with documents that support your request. We look at each one case by case.
6. Non-Refundable Items
We cannot refund:
- Subscriptions more than 30 days old (except in special circumstances)
- Accounts closed for breaking the Terms of Service
- Promotional or discounted subscriptions (unless we say otherwise)
- Gift subscriptions bought for someone else (contact us about transfers)
7. How to Request a Refund
Option 1: Online (Recommended)
- Log in to your OrthoVellum account
- Go to Settings → Subscription
- Click "Request Refund"
- Follow the prompts to finish your request
Option 2: Email
Email with:
- Subject: "Refund Request"
- Your account email address
- Subscription type (monthly or annual)
- Date of purchase
- Reason for the refund (optional, but it helps)
8. Refund Processing
8.1 Timeline
- We aim to review refund requests quickly
- Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days
- Your bank may take a little longer to show the refund
8.2 Payment Method
- Refunds go back to your original payment method
- Credit card refunds usually appear within 5-10 business days
- If your original payment method no longer works, contact us
9. Subscription Pausing
Instead of cancelling, annual subscribers can ask to pause their subscription for up to 2 months (once per subscription year) for:
- Extended leave or a holiday
- Medical reasons
- Work commitments outside study periods

10. Account Reactivation
If you cancel and later want to come back, account-level study history held by active service providers may be kept for up to 12 months. After 12 months, we may delete it in line with our Privacy Policy.
11. Currency and Taxes
- Refunds are made in the currency of the original payment
- Taxes are refunded in proportion
- We do not compensate for exchange-rate differences
12. Disputes
If you disagree with a charge on your account, please contact us before you start a chargeback with your bank. We will work to sort out billing issues quickly and fairly.
If you start a chargeback without contacting us first, we may suspend your account.
13. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy removes, limits, or changes any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be removed, limited, or changed by agreement. Australian consumers have certain guaranteed rights, including the right to a refund for services not provided with due care and skill.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Any change will not apply backwards to subscriptions that already exist when the change is made.
