Hip Arthroplasty Complications
A 78-year-old woman with a cemented total hip arthroplasty performed 8 years ago presents after a fall from standing. She has pain and inability to bear weight. Radiographs show a spiral fracture around the tip of a well-fixed femoral stem extending distally. There are no signs of osteolysis or stem loosening.
