Ankle Trauma
A 45-year-old woman presents after twisting her ankle during a fall. She reports hearing a "pop" and was unable to weight bear. Radiographs show an oblique fracture of the lateral malleolus at the level of the syndesmosis running from anteroinferior to posterosuperior, a transverse fracture of the medial malleolus, and widening of the medial clear space.
