Great Toe Disorders
A 55-year-old man presents with progressive pain and stiffness of his right great toe MTP joint. He has difficulty walking and running, and pain is worse with toe-off during gait. Examination shows dorsal osteophyte, painful and limited dorsiflexion (20 degrees vs 65 degrees normal), and relatively preserved plantarflexion.
