A 24-year-old professional footballer presents with recurrent painful snapping behind the lateral malleolus. He recalls an inversion injury 6 months ago while playing. On examination, there is tenderness posterior to the lateral malleolus and subluxation of the peroneal tendons is reproduced with resisted ankle dorsiflexion and eversion.
