Pseudo-Jones Fractures - Avulsion 5th Metatarsal Tuberosity

Metatarsal Fractures

A 55-year-old woman presents after a twisting ankle injury while stepping off a curb. She has lateral foot pain and swelling over the proximal fifth metatarsal. Radiographs show an avulsion fracture of the tuberosity of the fifth metatarsal base, oriented obliquely and NOT extending into the 4-5 intermetatarsal articulation.
