A 62-year-old man of Northern European descent presents with progressive inability to fully extend his right ring finger over the past 2 years. He has palpable cords in the palm and a 45-degree MCP joint flexion contracture and a 30-degree PIP joint contracture. He has difficulty placing his hand flat on a table.
