Thumb Injuries
A 28-year-old skier presents after falling with the ski pole still in hand. She has pain and swelling at the ulnar aspect of her thumb MCP joint. Stress testing shows 35 degrees of valgus laxity compared to 10 degrees on the contralateral side, with no firm endpoint. Radiographs show no fracture.
