Carpal Fractures
A 35-year-old woman falls onto her outstretched hand. She has pain at the base of her thumb and tenderness over the thenar eminence. Standard wrist radiographs are equivocal. A carpal tunnel view shows a small fragment off the volar aspect of the trapezium. CT scan confirms an isolated volar ridge fracture without involvement of the CMC joint.
