Pediatric Trigger Thumb

Pediatric Hand Conditions

An 18-month-old girl is brought by her parents who noticed that her left thumb is stuck in a bent position. The child does not appear to be in pain. Examination reveals the thumb IP joint held in approximately 30 degrees of flexion with a palpable nodule at the base of the thumb. Passive extension is possible but with a palpable click.
