Wrist Arthritis
A 62-year-old right-hand-dominant woman presents with radial wrist pain that has progressively worsened over 2 years. She has difficulty opening jars and experiences pain with gripping. Examination reveals tenderness at the radial aspect of the wrist, distal to the scaphoid tubercle. There is no thumb CMC grind test tenderness. Radiographs show joint space narrowing and osteophytes at the scaphotrapeziotrapezoid (STT) joint with no other arthritic changes. Regarding STT (triscaphe) arthritis:
