Pediatric Knee Injuries
An 11-year-old boy presents after a fall while jumping off playground equipment. He landed with his knee flexed and felt a pop. He is unable to straight-leg raise and has significant swelling of the knee. Examination reveals a palpable gap inferior to the patella, hemarthrosis, and loss of active knee extension.
