Degenerative Spine
A 65-year-old man presents with midline lower back pain that worsens with extension and is relieved by flexion. He has no radiculopathy or neurogenic claudication. Examination reveals tenderness over the L4-L5 interspinous space. Lumbar radiographs show close approximation of adjacent spinous processes with sclerosis.
