Tendon Disorders
A 42-year-old recreational runner presents with 6 months of posterior heel pain that is worse in the morning and at the start of activity. The pain has not improved despite rest. Examination reveals a fusiform swelling 4cm proximal to the calcaneal insertion, tenderness over the tendon substance, and pain with resisted plantarflexion.
