Knee Conditions
A 25-year-old runner presents with medial knee pain that worsens with prolonged sitting and stair climbing. She reports a snapping sensation over the medial femoral condyle with knee flexion. On examination, there is tenderness over the medial parapatellar region with a palpable cord-like structure. Flexion and extension reproduce the snapping. MRI shows a thickened mediopatellar plica.
