Shoulder Labral Pathology
A 28-year-old elite cricket fast bowler presents with a 6-month history of right shoulder pain. The pain is located deep in the shoulder and worsens with bowling, particularly during the cocking and acceleration phases. He reports occasional "clicking" and a sense of instability. Examination reveals a positive O'Brien test, positive Speed's test, and positive crank test. Pain is reproduced with resisted shoulder external rotation in 90 degrees abduction. MR arthrogram shows a tear of the superior labrum extending from anterior to posterior with involvement of the biceps anchor. Regarding this condition:
