Thumb Trauma
A 32-year-old male presents after punching a wall during an altercation. He has pain and swelling at the base of the thumb with limited range of motion. Radiographs reveal an intra-articular fracture at the base of the first metacarpal with a small volar-ulnar fragment remaining articulated with the trapezium, while the metacarpal shaft is displaced dorsally and radially.
