Both Column Acetabular Fractures

Acetabular Fractures

A 35-year-old male is brought to the emergency department following a high-speed motor vehicle collision. He has severe hip pain and is unable to bear weight. Pelvic radiographs show disruption of both the iliopectineal and ilioischial lines. The obturator oblique view demonstrates a characteristic "spur sign" - an intact segment of ilium projecting superiorly while the acetabular dome appears completely detached. CT confirms fractures through both the anterior and posterior columns with no articular segment maintaining attachment to the intact axial skeleton. Regarding this injury pattern:
