Foot Trauma
A 42-year-old construction worker falls 4 metres from scaffolding, landing on his feet. He presents with severe bilateral heel pain, swelling, and inability to weight-bear. Examination reveals widened, shortened heels with fracture blisters developing. X-rays show bilateral calcaneal fractures with Bohler's angle of 10 degrees on the right (normal 20-40 degrees) and complete loss of height bilaterally. CT scan of the right calcaneus shows a Sanders Type IIB fracture with depression of the posterior facet.
