Shoulder Girdle Trauma
A 28-year-old cyclist presents after a fall onto his left shoulder. Examination reveals a deformity at the midshaft of the clavicle with tenting of the skin but no break in skin integrity. Radiographs show a displaced midshaft clavicle fracture with greater than 2cm shortening and 100% displacement. He is a competitive cyclist and wishes to return to racing as soon as possible.
