Pelvic Trauma
A 35-year-old motorcyclist presents after a high-speed collision. He is hypotensive with a heart rate of 125. Examination reveals pelvic instability with external rotation deformity of the left hemipelvis. Pelvic radiograph shows diastasis of the symphysis pubis (8cm) with disruption of the left sacroiliac joint. FAST examination is negative. A pelvic binder is applied and resuscitation commenced.
