Elbow Complications
A 35-year-old man is seen 4 months after surgical fixation of an elbow fracture-dislocation. He complains of progressive stiffness and now has a fixed flexion arc from 60 to 90 degrees. Radiographs show mature heterotopic ossification bridging the anterior elbow joint, blocking extension. He had a prolonged ICU stay for associated injuries.
